Explore our EV Charging Solutions

EV Chargers are significantly faster at charging as they are wired into the homes switchboard and have the capacity to charge 3x faster than the standard power point charger. Explore our innovative range tailored to fit your existing setup.

Sigenergy offers both AC and DC EV charging solutions to suit different needs.

The AC charging option supplies alternating current to your vehicle, where the car’s onboard charger converts it to DC to charge the battery. It is ideal for everyday home charging and is available in 7 kW, 11 kW, and 22 kW models.

The DC charger is a module that stacks into the SigenStor energy system, the DC converts power before it reaches the vehicle and delivers direct current straight to the battery at speeds of up to 25 kW. This allows for faster charging, improved solar efficiency, and advanced features such as Vehicle to Home (V2H) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) capability when supported by the vehicle.

Sigen EV DC Charging Module

A genuinely future – proof product.

It supports 25kW bi – directional charging, establishing itself as the central connection point between EVs and homes.

Leveraging the advanced DC – coupled architecture, it allows EVs to be directly charged with solar – generated green electricity, thus facilitating eco – friendly mobility.

Bi-directional charging

The future is here

Sigenergys advanced technology allows direct tapping into DC power from the battery and solar panel, enabling virtual grid capacity expansion and 100% green power charging. Get ready for the future with V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) capabilities, unlocking limitless possibilities for modern living.

*V2X functionality is limited by the EV’s capabilities. Once the relevant standards are published, V2X feature can be upgraded through the OTA. For the official support of vehicle models and support timelines, please refer to future announcement made on the official Sigenergy website.

EV Charger & Installation
Frequently Asked Questions

Are there Rebates or Government Incentives for EV charger installation?

Yes, there are government incentives available to encourage the installation of EV chargers, such as the Charge Up Workplace EV Charging Grant and rebates that can help offset the cost of installation. You can learn more about the Charge Up Workplace EV Charging Grant here. In addition, the WA Government has a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Rebate to encourage the purchase of zero emission vehicles.

How long does EV charger installation take?

Installation times may vary depending on the complexity of the installation and your location. Typically, residential installations can be completed in a few hours. You can expect your power to be turned off for the duration of the installation. Our professional installers will talk you through the work they will do on the day and will be on hand to help if you have any questions.

How does an EV Charger Work?

An EV charger pulls an electrical current from 240v power and delivers that electricity to your electric vehicle, just like any other appliance or device you charge by plugging into the wall.

Specialised hardware is found in EV chargers which use an electrical source to charge the EV battery. While fast chargers use DC power to provide DC power directly to the battery, the EV charger in the vehicle converts energy from AC to DC.

Can my charger accommodate different EV brands?

Absolutely! Most EV chargers have a Type 2 socket, the standard in Australia, allowing you to charge any compatible EV.

Charging speeds vary by vehicle and available power supply. Refer to your vehicle manufacturer’s guidance for charging speeds of other electric vehicles.

Can I purchase the EV Charger only?

Just looking for an EV charger? Our ‘Charger Only’ option is perfect for you if you already have an experience electrician ready to install.

We partner with leading brands like Tesla, iStore, evnex, Fronius and Goodwe to offer the latest in EV home chargers.

Will charging my vehicle at home increase my Electricity bills?

Yes, charging your EV will result in the use more electricity, but it’s usually much easier on your wallet than traditional fuel.

You can save more by charging during off-peak hours if you have variable rates with your electricity provider or by integrating your EV Charger with a Solar PV System.

Pairing your EV charging stations with a solar PV system allows your home to utilize renewable energy, decreasing your dependence on the grid and reducing your energy bills, while charging with vehicle with solar energy.

How long does it take to Charge up my electric vehicle?

Vehicle charging speeds vary by model and whether you are using a Mobile Connector or Wall Connector.
The charging speed can differ based on available power, your vehicle, charging equipment and local regulations. Refer to your vehicle manufacturer’s guidance for charging speeds of other electric vehicles.

Can I charge my EV using Solar Energy?

Definitely! Charging your EV with solar power is feasible if you have a home solar system or solar panels installed. We also provide smart chargers that enhance solar compatibility, though additional costs may apply. Explore our innovative range tailored to fit your existing setup.

Can I install my own home EV charger?

Unfortunately no, you cannot legally install an EV charger yourself.

You must hire a qualified, licensed electrician to install an EV Charger. This is due to the complexity of the installation, safety regulations, and the potential for voiding the charger’s warranty if not installed by a certified professional.

If you already own an EV charger, you’ll be looking for a professional and experienced electrician to install it. We’re here to help.  We’ll install it safely and professionally, ensuring maximum performance and full compliance.

Can I install an EV charger for my apartment?

Yes, it is possible to install EV chargers at apartment buildings, but it may require coordination with the Strata Manager and possibly additional permissions.

Why do I need to upgrade my Electrical Switchboard to install my EV Charger at home?

Before installing your EV charger, we inspect your switchboard to ensure it can safely handle the extra load. Older or undersized panels may not have the capacity, which can lead to overloaded circuits or even fire hazards. Upgrading your switchboard allows us to install a dedicated EV charger circuit – keeping your system safe and reliable. This is especially important for Level 2 chargers, which require more power and a capable setup for efficient, trouble free charging.

Where can I find public EV Charging Stations in WA?

When you’re out and about, it’s worth knowing where your closest public fast charging station is, so you can top up your charge if you need to. It’s also worth considering having a spare charging cable and a travel adaptor in your car so you have more options with the EV Charging stations available.

There are hundreds of EV chargers across Perth and WA. You can find EV charging stations all over Perth including in carparks, shopping centres and restaurants or along the WA EV Network.
