How often should you clean your Split System Filters?
As a general rule, you should be cleaning your Split System filters every two weeks, this can vary depending on how many people and pets live in the home.
Please read the User Manual for your unit before trying to remove the filters, this can prevent any issues or breakages. A vacuum cleaner can be used to remove the build-up of dust on the filters or by washing them with lukewarm water. Leave them to dry out of direct sunlight before placing them back into your unit.
When Should My Air Conditioner Be Serviced?
We recommend a professional deep chemical clean and service should be scheduled every 6 months, 12 months at the very most on split system air conditioners. For ducted systems, filter cleaning and system checks should be carried out at the same intervals. Both systems can suffer from a decline in performance if neglected and not properly maintained. If it’s been more than 6 months, it’s time to get your air conditioner back to peak performance.
